13 June 2019

Dear Parents
It’s good to see the weather on the improve. We are busy practising for our upcoming production of Conundrum on the 15/16th August and the Polyfest on the 30th August.

We are also eagerly awaiting the completion of the school upgrade which is supposed to be finished on the 16th August. We look forward to utilising the new space.

Congratulations to our new Board of Trustees: Leanne Liggett, Bailey Pickett, Angela Gillespie, Brett Hamilton, Leighton Murray, Jono Duffy and Vanessa Williams. Their first meeting is next Monday 17th June and we wish them all the best in their new roles.

Thank you to the families were supported our school mass last Sunday. While we had a number of apologies it was a very disappointing turnout.

We have the ASB Getwise financial programme in all classes on Monday, this was well received when they were here last time.

A reminder with all the mud and wet grounds to send your children with extra clothes and shoes. No rugby boots with studs please.

WEEK 7   10th – 14th June
10th Mary, Mother of the Church
11th St Barnabas, apostle

Why is Mary called the Mother of the Church?

Pope Paul VI proclaimed Mary “Mother of the Church” in 1964. Church has the characteristics of a mother, insofar as she gives birth to new Christians, this characteristic is derivative from the motherhood of Mary. Mary has not always been called the Mother of the Church, but this title helps Catholics build a stronger relationship to both the Church and Mary.
