Dear Parents

Welcome back to a new year at Sacred Heart School. A big thanks to the families who were able to join us last weekend for our Mass and school opening. It was good to have Bishop Michael here to bless the school for us.

Welcome to our new pupils: Maddon Barbour, Tysyn Sutherland, Oliver Duggan, Elizabeth Chong, Nevaeh Tagomoa-Kaa, Reveesha Mendis, Austin Cooper, Raiden Harry, Trinav Vinayak,  Vaughn Chalmers and Blake Mouat. We certainly hope they and their families, enjoy their time at Sacred Heart.

We have started the year with 97 children which is down on previous years. While we advertise in local pre-schools and kindergartens,  parent recommendations count a lot when new parents are looking around schools. We need at least 15-20 new enrolments this year to sustain our teaching numbers. If you know of any prospective enrolments, please contact  Mrs Russell or myself.
Working Bee
The Working Bee planned for tomorrow has been postponed till further notice. Thanks to those parents who replied that they could help. We will let you know when another date has been set.
School Communication
We will continue to use MailChimp for bulk school emails. Class teachers will also have group emails for specific information. If you are not getting the school emails please check all your spam and junk mail folders as this is a subscription based service and some mail filters block these.
You can also download an app for your phone called SchoolStream which is free and notifies you when there are school notices. Please see me if you want to know more about this.
Scholastic Bookclub – Issue 1 closes on Friday 21 February.
Subway is available on Thursdays for the children to order.  Envelopes are available from the office, so please help yourselves. Orders must be in before 9am on this day, and deliveries will be back at school by 11.30am.

Lost Jersey – We have a lost jersey already, with the name Nathan Frampton on the tag. Please check your child is wearing the correct one.

Congratulations to the children who received certificates at assembly this morning.
